Finally.. a flat screen

We know.. we know!
Our space downstairs was outdated just by having an older tv.

It had the first tv Pete and I bought together and it was about 10-12 years old.. ain’t funny lie.. Pete was a little sad to see it go haha

We figured sometime this year we would upgrade but honestly.. we have 3 other smaller flat screens upstairs and Pete and I often watch shows on our phones in bed :)

Anyways.. Celestial was moving and was getting rid of that dresser (that actually was a hand me down to us when we first got married- our first dresser and it was black)
It is heavy and when we bought our house we knew it would t get upstairs, so we have to Celestial. She pointed it blue and used as a tv stand.

Now she was moving again and didn’t want it any longer so she offered to us first.
Pete didn’t want it but I told him I would paint it and then we could upgrade the tv without having to get a tv and a wall mount and a tv stand.
(We knew we wanted a bigger tv, meaning a bigger tv stand)

Anyways... this weekend we were suppose to go watch my niece play softball in st George and it fell through because another kid came to the tournament with Covid so they cancelled part way through.

We debated what to do with the kids instead and we all agreed to upgrade and have a movie night at home.

Now the kids actually hang out downstairs more instead of upstairs.

Girls Weekend

It’s been 2 years since us girls did a weekend get away. This time we decided on 2 nights instead of one.. because really.. it still ends up being so quick and makes 1 full day.

We planned it 6 weeks in advance and we’re soo surprised when I worked for us all.

A few things jeopardized it being cancelled- Covid 19 scare from Tara, but she got negative test
Amber potentially getting a job
Ashley’s grandma passed prior and they had the funeral the day we linked up.

We did Mexican and hibachi for dinner
Ate breakfast at the cafe
Played games in the room
Shopped at Walmart 😂
Lounged and swam at the pool
Dances both nights with live music (with dang masks)

We had a good time and it’s alway nice catching up with these girls.

Taras Birthday

My birthday was Monday but because of work we decided to eat out of Sunday.
We went to Eddies

Monday I took the day off work, dropped Jaiden off at work.
Me and Rylan and Kadence got a smog on Pete’s truck (across town cause its diesel) then we walked around the park for a little bit and The kid’s to me to Pf Change for lunch

I loved my day date with my babes.
We grilled up dinner for the night and kept it low key.
Pete me and Jaiden rented Invisible man that night.

I love my people

4th of July

We were unable to do Sanders Tradition of a parade this year because of Covid...
But Greg and Alisha, and my parents and me and ry and kade got together and mom and dads and did a mini breakfast and played a questions game

It was really fun and Kadence didn’t want to stop playing.
We headed home and relaxed until later.
Pete actually ended up not working so he grocery shopped for me and Jaiden worker the day time.

In the even Granny, Kim and the boys came over for a bbq, swimming, and fireworks!

Our neighbors set off a lot of illegals like normal and the lids had fun setting off ours and one of our neighbors illegals.

Date with mom

My mom wanted to take me out for my birthday.
She booked us pedicures which I was in bad need of.
I do my own gel nails all the time.. so my toes are always “done” but the dead skin was so nice to get rid of.
Because of Covid 19 we couldn’t sit next to eat other so we couldn’t much talk to each other either... but it was still nice

He can drive

Jaiden got his Permit!

DMV shut down for a while and so we didn’t know when Jaiden would be able to get his permit.
Last week was insane..  dr appts, busy at work, one down in the office at work.
I had finally got 2 dmv appts for the truck title and for Jaiden’s permit.
He had studied and was ready.. but I forgot his birth certificate, also his school sucked and didn’t send over the attendance forever.

Thankfully I had booked another appt for the following week in case he failed or had to work.
The day was coming closer and STILL the school didn’t send the required certificate of attendance.
I had called and called and called.
I had planned to go down to the school the day prior (even though they were not taking walk ins...  I was so frustrated because it is July and dmv appts are now booked out till September!!!

My mom is a very persistent women. She actually went to the school.
No one was up front.. she drove to the back and saw cars..
Everything was locked but there was a sign for deliveries to call her number. She called the number and two guys came out she explained my situation and they just told her to call the office the office will be able to help. She told them that we have been trying to do that for a week straight every single day and have gotten no response. The delivery guy responded that he knew they were in there today and haven’t been so if I called again she would answer the phone. Like I said my mom is very persistent and she asked the guy if he would walk in there and pass along the message to please email the copy of the certificate of attendance he said he could not she then asked him again if he would please do that because Jaiden had an appointment The following day and if we didn’t have this paper we would be out of luck 20 minutes later I have an email in my email box with the certificate that we have been waiting 10 days for. The next day me and Jaiden went to the DMV and he passed the test I told him he owed his grandma a huge thank you because if she had not done that he would still be waiting until September to get his permit. I’m super excited for Jaiden to be able to learn how to drive and for this next step for him he’s driven twice now with me and so far he’s really actually pretty decent

Jaiden’s first job

Jaiden got his first job.
Lifeguarding at Wet n Wild

During the school year his health teacher told his class that wet n wild hires at 15.5
So he kind of had that in mind for a summer job.
Then come spring his friend who is only a month older than him posted on Snapchat that she got hired as a lifeguard.
So he reached out to her.

Anyways I helped him with a resume and he submitted an application.
He ended up having to do about 40 hours of lifeguard and cpr training down at Unlv.

Then opening season was getting closer and he had a hour of training.
He also had a full day of training scheduled and then we went into lockdown because of Covid 19
For 3 months he did not work.
He did get a paycheck for his one hour he put it .

Haha

Thankfully we are now opened back up and he is working 25-30 hours a week.
I usually have to leave work for 1 hour a day to get him there and am super thankful for a flexible job even In our busy season.

Him hacking a job has added a little extra stress and business to me..
But the benefits in our option are so worth it.
Pete and I both had jobs at young ages and are both hard workers because of it.
Earning and managing money at a young age is really important to each of us, for our kids to learn.

Jaiden comes home tired but is happy about a pay check.
He is meeting new friends and breaking up his days.

We’re proud of our boy for putting in the work!
