Hiking The Narrows

I love love love doing outdoorsy stuff.
I've wanted to take the kids to this Hike  (and Pete... I did growing up)
but I wanted to wait till Kadence would be big enough to do well.

well, we woke up and made good time getting there. But, we obviously ddint know what we were doing and during the summer you can't drive through to the hikes.
We asked the ranger when paying to get it.
He wasn't helpful and we wound up driving through the park (and I mean driving through..passing by)  we did not realize there is a turn off.
Anyways... that threw us back 1.5 hours.
then the shuttles were crazy busy and we waiting 1 hr. to get on the shuttle.

then 40 min to the last stop ( the narrows)

took us much longer to be at the start of the hike and there were clouds so we were a little nervous since there can be real crazy flash flooding.
we did it and the kids LOVED it. .. at least the most of it.

we think we did about 4 miles in and 4 miles out.. so 8 miles round trip.

toward the end our body's  (ankles mainly) were getting tired from rolling do much.

we stopped by Josh and Stephs after and saw baby Rivers. in love with him, so cute.

it started raining crazy and we were bummed we wouldn't get to do the Jacuzzi in St. George.

we ate chic file and headed to our room.

our kids are deprived I guess.
we camp or head to call with family alot..meaning they haven't done a ton of hotels.

that's was huge for them!

I for warned them it wasn't a super nice hotel.

well, I guess best western plus surprised us all.
it was super nice.
the kids LOVED their last Harrah! before summer ended.

Labor Day in Idaho

We left dad at home :( and drove with Grandpa up to Idaho to see Crystal, Ryan and the kids for Rhetts baby blessing and to visit Elis Grave.
The kids traveled well and we had lots of fun while there.
The first night we hit Town Square which is alot like Las Vegas town square but nicer. They have a pretty water show which was pretty to watch.
We went to Babby Farms which is hands on and the kids so to pet and feed the animals.  They even let you in the pens of some of the animals including with Kangaroo and Goats. Kadence loved the little monkey and said her dreams came true.
That night we went to the park and the kids wanted to swim in the river..it was cold but it didn't stop them.
Sunday we Went to Rhetts blessing which Ryan gave a absolutely beautiful blessing. We were able to swing by Elis Grave  (his headstone was just completed and placed this week and it's absolutely beautiful). Crystal read the poem Celestial had written that was in the funeral program and We sang. Kadence was so sad and wouldn't take a picture, I Think she was embarrassed that she was the only cousin crying.  We ate brunch at Mike and Debbies home on the porch. The kids for to run and play and ride the horses. We picked some produce from the garden. YUMM!!   It was pretty perfect.

We had so much fun with the Hunters..laughing, crying , and making fun new memories!
