Eat that Watermelon!!

We've been planning all week to go to this school function. Did I just say function...haha, make me feel old

Anyways. We knew there was going to be a watermelon eating contest. Jaides FAVORITE!! He had his heart set. 

We realized the day before that it was actually a dance also

It was Really cute. 

They had a free photo booth with props..

Snacks and a dj and the watermelon contest

They were smart about spacing out the ages for the contest and kept everyone there the whole 2 hrs

It was really fun for the kids

Ry took a mine to warm up and dance, once his friends got there this boy broke loose.

Jaiden had a little girl tailing him and my heart broke a little 

In my head I feel like he's big but that stuff makes it reality 

Boo!!

Kadence wanted in on the contest so I told her to jump on the kindergarten one.

She took her time ...pretty sure she just wanted watermelon. 

Haha. Jaiden did the contest he ate four 

The winner ate TEN.

In a minute and a half. 

Water Balloon Volleyball

Scouts has shifted to only 2xs a month during the summer.

Pete & I were only In charge of June

 

The first one we hiked Mountains Edge because one of the boys needed to pass off a hike.

 

Yesterday we played water balloon volleyball!

It was lots of Fun!!

 

 

Of course it ended in a water balloon fight!

Kadence has transitioned to summer camp at daycare. 

when the boys went there they weren't offered this until AFTER kindergarten...but because the school is year round they had less kids at a time and offered to the per k. 

She's done with naps (even though she never takes at home on weekends) and Also she gets 2 field trips a week. 

She's been dropping like a fly all over the place. 

I'm glad she's adjusting now rather than when full day kindergarten starts up.

Spring 14 Basketball

Jaiden played Basketball this Spring with NYS.

He did really well!

He's really good and maneuvering the ball around. He's fast and can move in and out of the kids pretty well and he's aggressive.

He got some seriously good plays in.

He needs to slow down when he shoots though.

He actually was on a great team this year.

4 or 5 pretty good players so Jai cant take all the credit

The team only lost ONE game..

Which happened to be when we were out of town in California.

And.... It was the one game he would have played against his friend from school

Were still pretty bummed when we think about it.

They never played another match up against them so who knows

Either way... The team and Jai did GREAT!

Normally we don't play summer sports but the coach wants to keep the team who can stay, together.

because its summer and our work.. We talked to him before signing up again.

I was already late to every practice because it was at 4pm

He said they'll be doing 6pm so we should be able to make that happen

So heres to a great Spring season and hopefully as good of summer one!

Great Job Jai... we love watching you do your thang!! ;)

New Grass

My yard has NEVER looked this bad. EVER!!

I am one to try and take pride in my yard. I like being outside so obviously when your yard looks like this its not that enjoyable.

Since weve gotten 2 dogs.. our yard is pretty pathetic.

The worst part.. this is us TRYING!

yES, SEEDING AND FERTILIZING. watering, ECT.

2XS in the past 2 months. The dogs get out of their kennel and run and wrestle.

Killing the grass.

Our last attempt we knew would be our last attempt but weren't ready to give up on real grass yet.

Or I wasn't

 

Im super excited because honestly... Im the one who mainly mows and waters, ect the yard.

This will obviously drop some serious yard work off our plate.

Kadence has asked for the past 3 nights for play dough.
tonight we made homemade play dough..and cinnamon rolls for. Dinner think they kinda like me tonight :)

Summer heat is here even if my kids did just go back to school and wont have an official summer... we'll still have our summer fun...

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend Ash and Jed invited us to go to Duck Creek with them. 

How could we say no to our favorite spot. 

We stayed at BIlls cabin while they stayed at her grandparents with some of the rest of her family. We spent some time with then and sometime alone. 

We lucked out and BIll also had his razor up there. 

Love it!!

We ate, swing, went for a walk,ate time foil dinners, shot rock chucks...Rylan got his first ever.

I made my very first dutch oven meal all by myself....chorizo and eggs per Pete's request. 

Watch movies and jumped streams and went for some rides.

As usual Duck Creek didn't disappoint!!
